The Doss House is a very unique establishment with considerable historical character. Ordinarily, I would not have heard about this place, but I did a walking tour of Sydney earlier and learned about the history of the building. Spent a little more than I ordinarily would on the visit, which included a flight of global whiskeys and a charcuterie tray, including kangaroo. The Wade staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and the whiskeys and food were of the highest quality. This place is a bit of a hidden gem, but I recommend a visit.

We stumbled on this bar by mistake and it happened to be one of the best mistakes we ever made. As we walked down the stairs into the basement it felt like we had gone back 200 years In time. There was an eight piece band playing around the tables like they were there just to have a bit of fun after ducking your head to get into the bar from the original 200 year-old building stone door frame you were welcomed into a great old-fashioned bar. The only problem is it’s very hard to get photos to show you how good it is because there is so much history and small rooms. You just can’t get the photo.

We had a lovely evening at The Doss House on 28 December. There was a trad music session which was fantastic and they done a shout-out to my partners Grandma over from Ireland which was lovely. Guy (bar man) was fantastic. He made sure we had a round of drinks at all times. I loved his brilliant attitude and willingness to help find a table near the music & make sure we didn’t wait too long for a round of drinks. He is a credit to your team.

My first ever time coming to dos house and a gentleman named guy helped out so much with drinks and any questions. There was a waitress Amy that assisted us with any questions needed or any particular cocktails. Such an amazing atmosphere and everyone that assisted us out was incredible. 10/10 recommend

Really enjoyed the gin-based cocktail they recommended to me! Such a joy having great drinks inside a 200-year-old building. Definitely a bar worth visiting during the trip.

hidden gem for a relaxed drink. The lighting is warm and moody. perfect atmosphere to settle in and unwind. Their signature cocktail is a standout and clearly crafted with care.

The best bar in Sydney! The live entertainment we experienced on the weekends here is the amazing. The staff here are truly first class. They are beyond accommodating. Absolute first class. We always look forward to coming back here. THE BEST pint of Guinness in Sydney

The Doss House is an absolute must visit for anyone in or visiting Sydney! It has unbeatable vibes with its candle lit decor and speakeasy energy! The toasted sandwiches are out of this world and as for the Guinness, it's hard to find a better pint in Sydney! The staff are absolutely amazing and are always so attentive, even when it gets busy! With the snacks and drinks on offer and their live music line up it's hard to find a better spot to spend an evening!

Amazing find! We’re from the Gold Coast and this is what we’re missing. A gorgeous well set out whisky bar somehow right where you need it but once you’re in there you’re transformed to another place and away from the hustle n bustle, with an awesome vibe, great music, and some fabulous drinks!! We stopped by the Doss House for cocktails and were blown away. We ordered a passion fruit margarita, a raspberry margarita, and an espresso martini. Every single drink was an 11/10. I know that sounds like an exaggeration, but it truly isn’t. Each cocktail was perfectly balanced, flavorful, and clearly made with care. On top of that, the hospitality was outstanding. Lulu was incredibly sweet, helped us decide what to order, and made us feel genuinely welcomed and at home from the moment we arrived. Great drinks paired with warm, thoughtful service made this a fantastic experience. Highly recommend stopping here for cocktails! If you want it shorter or even more enthusiastic, I can tweak it to match the exact vibe you’re going for. 🍸✨
